A major step forward for integrated solar and energy storage in Malaysia

JS Solar Holding Berhad is pleased to announce that its wholly owned subsidiary, JS Solar Holdiong Berhad, has accepted a Letter of Acceptance from GSPARX Sdn Bhd for an engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) contract at AEON Mall Seremban 2.

Valued at RM18.05 million, the project combines:

  • A 4,652.5 kWp building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) and rooftop solar PV system; and
  • A 3,856 kWh battery energy storage system (BESS), equivalent to approximately 3.856 MWh of energy storage capacity.

The full EPCC scope covers the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of both systems. The six-month project period is scheduled to run from 19 August 2026 to 19 February 2027.

This award marks another important milestone for JS Solar as the company expands beyond solar generation into integrated solar-plus-storage solutions for Malaysia’s commercial and industrial sector.

Shares of JS Solar Holding Berhad were trading at 20 sen on Tuesday, 18 August 2026, up 1.5 sen or approximately 8.1% from Monday’s closing price of 18.5 sen. Based on 325 million outstanding shares, the company’s market capitalisation stood at approximately RM65 million.

 

Why the 3,856 kWh BESS is a key part of the project

Solar panels generate electricity when sunlight is available, but a facility’s energy demand does not always follow the same pattern. A battery energy storage system helps bridge this gap by storing electricity and making it available for use according to the system’s configured operating strategy.
